Shillong, Nov 19: Three mountain bikers from Meghalaya – Ridor Niangti, Aldon JC Shylla and Lamphang Jyrwa – finished on the podium of the world’s highest mountain biking race, Monduro 3.0, held in Arunachal Pradesh.

Ridor, Aldon and Lamphang finished first, second and third respectively in the hardtail (bicycles without rear suspension) category.

The Monduro 3.0 race is renowned for its grueling trails and demanding terrain.

The Mon in the name is for the land of the Monpas, a major tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, and Duro refers to the Enduro format (a form of motorcycle sport run on extended cross-country, off-road courses) of mountain bike racing.

Monduro 3.0 is the first edition after the Arunachal government made it a regular calendar event.
