Shillong, Sep 22: The Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association has sent a contingent of eight kickboxers and one coach to the Juniors (Boys and Girls) National Kickboxing Championship 2025, which began in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, today.
The event will conclude on 26th September. It is being organised by the Amateur Kickboxing Association of Himachal Pradesh under the aegis of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation.
The championship will be a platform for Meghalaya’s national and state ranking kickboxers to retain their ranking as well as to vie for selection for the World Championship, International Open Kickboxing Championship and Asian Kickboxing Championship.
The MSKA made its selection based on the recommendations of affiliated district kickboxing associations. The coach is Nathaniel P Kurkalang, an international kickboxer in his own right.
The eight kickboxers on the Meghalaya team are Erick Kharsati (K1 -81kg), Shongkun D Khongwar (K1 -65kg), Rishanskhem Lipon (Low Kick -54kg), Emiliana Susngi (Low Kick -45kg), Barkis Nongkhlaw (K1 -46kg), Derick D Nongrum (K1 -54kg), Aedriel Gordon Ranee (K1 -45kg) and Orickson Marbaniang (Low Kick -45kg).
Meanwhile, the MSKA also informed that Daniella IW Mylliemngap and Medariphylla L Nongbri have been selected to represent India at the World Seniors and Masters Kickboxing Championship 2025 at Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 21st to 30th November.
