Shillong, Feb 27: A contingent of 27 female kickboxers of the Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association (MSKA), led by two international kickboxers – Nathaniel P Kurkalang and Ibadarishisha Mukhim – are in Siliguri to participate in the Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing League 2025-26.

The event will conclude on 1st March.

Some of the standout names in the Meghalaya squad are international kickboxers Daniella I Wanda Mylliemngap, Medariphyla Lyngdoh Nongbri and Belldona Pakyntein. The state fighters come from East Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills.

During the warm sendoff, the athletes expressed confidence that they will bring back plenty of medals, perhaps even more than the 23 Meghalaya brought home earlier this month in the 5th India Open International Kickboxing Tournament in New Delhi.

This tournament features kickboxers from 11 states sparring on one platform to qualify for the Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing Women’s National League 2025-26, which will be held in Chennai in March.
