Shillong, Mar 1: Marbisu CC and Cricket Smit tasted victory in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, yesterday.

Marbisu cruised to an eight-wicket victory against Sohra Combine in Group B, while Cricket Smit were narrow winners by 5 runs against Royal Challengers Mawsynram in Group A.

Sohra Combine won the toss and batted first but were unable to get any real traction in their batting performance as they were restricted to 114/6 in 20 overs. Jona Lyngdoh Nonglait top-scored with 37 from 32 balls, while Hameki Susngi took 2/16 in 4 overs.

In reply, Marbisu made 118/2 in 13.3 overs. Hameki smashed 77 in a 44-ball innings to lead his team to victory and was named Player of the Match.

Later, Cricket Smit were made to bat first after losing the toss and produced 134/7 in 20 overs. Bashaikupar Nongdhar made a rapid 28 from 14 deliveries, while Pynkhraw Jomati snatched 2/8 in 2 overs.

RC Mawsynram came close but were short by just a handful of runs in the end as they finished on 129/5 in 20 overs. Richie Shangpliang made 46 from 39 balls and Pynkhrawbok Thabah bagged 2/17 in 4 overs. Pynkhrawbok had also made 16 from 9 balls in Cricket Smit’s innings and he was adjudged Player of the Match.
