Shillong, Mar 18: Royal CC and Donkin CC won their respective matches in the 1st Late PA Sangma Memorial T20 Tournament, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, here today.
Royal CC utterly defeated Metallica Rising by 111 runs while Donkin edged Winds CC by a much smaller 16-run margin. Both games were in Group D.
Batting first after winning the toss, the Royals made 180 all out in 18 overs thanks to Swastic Chettri’s 62 from 38 balls and Roshan Warbah’s 41 from 22. Abid Khan was the star bowler with 6/25 in 4 overs.
Metallica’s batting, however, was a let-down as they were all out for 69 in 15.1 overs. Yogendra’s (no surname provided) 20 from 15 deliveries was the high score while Reshabh Dipak took 3/14 in 3.1 overs and Dippu Sangma 2/1 in 2 overs. With 25 runs made with the bat in Royal’s innings and his three wickets with the ball, Reshabh was named Player of the Match.
In the other game, Donkin also batted first on winning the toss. They made a much more average 132/9 in 20 overs. Agreas Chamcham Sangma’s 28 from 24 balls was the top score, while Pritam Singh (3/27 in 4 overs) and Lokesh Turaha (2/14 in 4) returned the best figures with the ball.
Winds came pretty close but were dismissed for 116 in 19.3 overs. Aditya Mahala top-scored with 25 from 20, while Rahul Shah took 4/10 in 4 overs and Rohit Rai 2/18 in 4. Rahul, who also scored 13 runs, was declared Player of the Match.
