Shillong, Apr 7: Shillong Lajong’s run of unbeaten away matches ended this evening with Dempo inflicting a 3-0 hammering in Margao, Goa, in the Indian Football League 2025-26.
Marcus Joseph (8′), Kapil Hoble (25′) and Richmond Kwasi Owusu (55’P) were the scorers for the home side.

Before today Lajong had not lost any of their three games (two wins and one draw) on the road this season.
They would have been aiming to make it a fourth as Dempo had not won any of their six fixtures before this encounter. However, the tide turned in emphatic fashion and SLFC have dropped from first place after Round 6 to fourth after Round 7.
There were no changes to the Lajong starting lineup that drew with Sreenidi Deccan six days ago. The Dempo starting XI also had a Meghalayan in the ranks – Knerktilang Buam (pictured far left), who has been a consistent presence in the Goan squad.
Lajong will next travel to Ludhiana to face Namdhari on 10th April, which will be their last away game of Stage 1 of the IFL 2025-26.
