Shillong, Sep 1: The last group matches of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2026 were played today, with all eight quarterfinalists decided.
The Top 2 from each of the three groups plus the overall two best third-placed teams will progress to the last-eight. The bottom-most team from each group will also drop into a Relegation Zone.

Today, Lawsohtun drew 1-1 with Umrynjah, while Sohryngkham defeated Sohiong 3-1.
At the MFA Ground Wanborlang Nongbri gave Umrynjah the lead in the 73rd minute and Lawsohtun, once so dominant, was staring at a possible defeat until Sahame Lyngdoh (90’+5) levelled at the end.
Over at the SSA Stadium Pynshongdor Pyngrope (6′), Balatei Kharpran (23′) and Bankyrshan Nongrum (72′) scored for Sohryngkham and Comingstar Jana (34′) for Sohiong.
The results mean that three teams at the top all have 10 points each. Head-to-head cannot separate them as they each had one win and one defeat (Lawsohtun beat Sohryngkham but lost to Tynring, who in turn lost to Sohryngkham). Therefore, goal difference is used to rank them and here Lawsohtun come first, with Tynring second and Sohryngkham third.
Mawpat and Madan SCC qualified from Group A as the Top 2, Umlyngka and Mawryngkneng from Group B and Lawsohtun and Tynring from Group C. The two best third-placed teams were Sohryngkham from Group C and Smit from Group B.
If there is a draw in the quarterfinals after 90 minutes then the match will go directly to a tiebreaker. Only the two teams that reach the final will be promoted to the First Division 2027.
In the Relegation Zone will be Lumshyiap from Group A, Mawkriah West from Group B and Jongksha from Group C. They will each play each other once and the best team from this group will avoid relegation, while the worst two will be dropped to the Third Division next season.
