Shillong, Sep 21: Malki came from an early goal down to beat Nongthymmai 3-2 in Group A of the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2026 at the SSA Stadium here today.
Kosterfield Kharbudnah (1′) gave Nongthymmai the lead in the very first minute, which made Malki’s work all the harder. They levelled in the 27th minute through Valerian Lyngdoh and then took the lead before half time thanks to Nali Rangsong (41′).
Badonkupar Marbaniang (61′) equalised for Nongthymmai in the second half just after an hour’s play and, just seven minutes later, Rangdajied Rynjah (68′) scored what proved to be the winning goal for Malki.
This was Nongthymmai’s first match of the season, while Malki had already played on the opening day of the First Division when they lost to Nongkrem 2-1.
