Shillong, Sep 13: Pynshailang Lyngkhoi became the first player to score a hat-trick in the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2024 today as Meghalaya Police demolished Imson 8-0 in Group A at First Ground, Polo, here.
The other match of the day, also in Group A, saw Smit SC win 1-0 versus Laitkyrhong SC.
Pynshailang (36′, 64′, 70′) led the way as MLP breezed past the opposition. The other scorers were Aldrin M Ramsiej (11′, 59′), Everestarly Rynjah (5′), Banraplang Mawphlang (45′) and Chesterfield Nongdhar (61′).
Smit’s lone goal was by Damewanshan Nengnong (45’+1).
MLP now have 7 points after three games at the top of Group A, while Smit are second on 6 points from two matches. Laitkyrhong are third with 4 points from three outings while Imson have lost both of their matches and occupy bottom spot.
