Shillong, May 1: Felicia Nongdhar was the most successful Meghalaya karateka at the 12th National Shotokan Karate Federation India Championship with two individual gold medals.
Meghalaya won a total of four gold, three silver and 18 bronze at the recently concluded tournament, which was held in Bokajan, Assam, from 26th to 28th April.
The other gold medallists from the state were Nangbiang Saphi Mukhim and Gideon Tympuin, the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association said in a press release today.
Deepayan Sarkar and Carenia Mary Rapthap won individual silver medals, while Iainehlang Kharbuli, Banteinam Marbaniang and Garry Daniel L Mawlong claimed the boys junior kata silver in the team event.
Two Meghalaya officials accompanied the karatekas to Bokajan – Arjun Sewa and Mingson Rymbai.
