Shillong, Sep 28: Keanean’s United and Board President XI will face off in the women’s final of the 2nd Open Futsal Tournament on Saturday here at the Laban SC Indoor Stadium.
The men’s finalists will be decided tomorrow morning after the semifinal stage.
In the women’s last-four stage Keanean’s United first beat Umran Niangbyrnai 4-1 before Board President XI came from a goal down to beat Umthli United 4-2, with the winners netting their first two goals thanks to some helpful deflections.
In the first two men’s quarterfinals Challenger FC went down 3-0 in defeat to SAC United, while Tur Shaphrang of Malki beat Umran Niangbyrnai (B) by a whopping 7-1 margin. The latter two were scheduled for after this report was prepared.
All the matches so far have been played over 20 minutes. However, the finals will be of 30 minutes’ duration.
The women’s final will be held at 3:00pm and the men’s final at 4:00pm. All are invited to come for the finals.
