Shillong, Oct 16: Uttarakhand beat Meghalaya by 116 runs in their Vinoo Mankad Trophy men’s U-19 one-day match in Bhubaneshwar today.
The Meghalaya lads had been waiting a long time for a competitive match, as both of their last two fixtures (against Arunachal Pradesh and Bihar) were abandoned due to bad weather.
Today Uttarakhand won the toss and chose to bat first and they put up a total of 255/7 in 50 overs. Abhishek bagged 3/42 for Meghalaya.
In reply opening batsman Hrithik Sharma compiled a patient 50 from 113 deliveries, but, apart from wicketkeeper-captain Anish Charak (34), no one else was able to get into double figures and Meghalaya were bowled out for just 139 in 44.5 overs.
Meghalaya will next take on Sikkim at the same venue on 20th October.
