Shillong, Mar 29: Fifteen boxers representing Meghalaya won medals at the 1st East Zone Sub-Junior Boxing Championship, which was held in Golaghat, Assam, from 24th to 27th March, the Meghalaya Boxing Association informed yesterday.
Meghalaya won six gold, six silver and three bronze medals at the tournament. Ten of the medallists were boys and five girls.
Meghalaya’s gold medallists:
Sameer Sunar (33-36kg, male); Bankhmihlang L Nongpiur (32-34kg, male); Mack L Marshillong (46-48kg, male); Sophia Suchiang (38-40kg, female); Rabiya Khan (40-42kg, female); Esha Das (36-38kg, female)
Meghalaya’s silver medallists:
Mewansuk Kharlor (28-30kg, male); Kishlay Vishlux (32-34kg, male); Sanny Thapa (46-48kg, male); Iarapborsing Kharbani (44-46kg, male); Sameer Thapa (50-52kg, male); Bainlumlin L Nongpiur (38-40kg, female)
Meghalaya’s bronze medallists:
Mewanlambiang Rani (34-36kg, male); Wanlambok Shynret (42-44kg, male); Hema Sunar (33-36kg, female)
