Shillong, Aug 2: The finals of the three categories of the state-level Subroto Cup will be held at the JN Stadium here tomorrow.
The semifinal round was held today with Umthli Higher Secondary School (East Khasi Hills) edging North Liberty Higher Secondary School (West Jaintia Hills) 1-0 in the U-17 girls’ category with a solitary goal by Nisilia Majaw.
Umthli will meet Joel Gatphoh Memorial Synod Higher Secondary School (West Khasi Hills) in the final after the latter defeated Sati Raja Memorial Secondary School (Ri-Bhoi) 3-2.
In the U-14 boys’ category Khliehumstem Secondary School of Ri-Bhoi will take on District War Sepngi Christian Higher Secondary School of East Khasi Hills in the final.
Khliehumstem had won 2-0 over Joel Gatphoh Memorial in the first semi today, while District War Sepngi cruised into the title match by defeating Musniang Secondary School (East Jaintia Hills) 4-0.
The U-17 boys’ semifinals were played under lights with H Elias Higher Secondary School (East Khasi Hills) beating North Liberty Higher Secondary School (West Jaintia Hills) 2-0.
The second semi between Church of God Secondary School (West Khasi Hills) and Pratlynti Secondary School (Ri-Bhoi) ended in a 1-1 draw, but the former came through in the tiebreaker 3-2.
