Shillong, Dec 30: The Meghalaya contingent won a total of 43 medals at the 7th North East National Level Karate Championship, which concluded yesterday in Guwahati.
There were five gold, 10 silver and 28 bronze medals bagged by Meghalaya. Sixty-two karatekas of the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association took part in the two-day event, AMKA said in a press release today. The team was accompanied by coaches Arjun Sewa and Mingson Rymbai, manager Federick Shangpliang and technical officials Donboklang Lyngdoh and Linza F Syiem.
AMKA also informed that four officials also passed their referee and judges exam – Lyngdoh (Referee A), Syiem (Referee A), Glikerius Buhphang (Judges B) and Rodrick Syiem (Judges B).
