Shillong, Mar 1: Shillong Cricket Association A took a 74-run lead over SCA-B at the end of the first day of their Meghalaya Cricket Association U-23 Men’s Inter-District Tournament Zone 1 match in Nongpoh today.

SCA-B won the toss and decided on batting first but were all out for 180 in 42 overs after Bipin Kumar Ray (4/29) and Swastik Chettri (3/42) made life difficult with the ball. In reply, SCA-A surpassed the B team’s total, reaching 254/4 in 45 overs at stumps. Three batsmen hit fifties – Roshan Warbah (73 off 46), Aman Kumar (65 off 105) and Abhishek Gupta (51 off 41) – whereas bright young talent Aryan Bora took all four scalps, finishing the day with 4/68.
