Shillong, Feb 20: YBSC Shella (pictured) and Synroplang of Laitkor won their respective matches in the 2nd Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament in Smit today.
YBSC Shella first defeated Combine Eleven 2-1 after coming from behind. Banpynshai Kharbyngar (18′) put Combine Eleven into the lead but Brilliant Chyne (32′) and Bijoy Wahlang (37′) ensured victory for YBSC Shella.
Later, a thrilling match saw Synroplang take an eighth minute lead via captain Banteinam Kurbah and they were able to hold on to that slender lead until the final whistle, taking the contest 1-0.
Two matches will be held on Wednesday. In the first, Lumkynsai FC will be up against 2 Tourist at 11AM, followed by Laitkyrhong SC vs Kiewshaphrang at 2PM.
