Shillong, Mar 6: Paraladei Smit (feature photo) and PSL Rangskhen (pictured below) won their respective first round matches in the 1st Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament, organised by the Seng Samla Smit Pyllun and Smit SC yesterday, but in contrasting styles.
PSL Rangskhen went through on penalties 6-5 against Lumkynsai Smit after neither side could find a breakthrough during normal time, the tournament’s Organising Secretary Syntem Kamwamut Nengnong informed.
The second match saw Paraladei Smit run away with the game 4-0 thanks to their strong line-up of players. Two goals were produced in the first 10 minutes through Wanlamsuk Nongkhlaw (2′, 9′).
Bishar Kharumnuid scored the third in the 55th minute and Nongkhlaw then claimed his hat-trick in the 69th.
There will be two matches on 10th March – Thangsning versus Nangkiew FC Umiew at 11AM and then Pomlakrai against Galaxy FC at 2PM.
