Shillong, Aug 11: After a spell on loan with Mohammedan Sporting, Phrangki Buam has returned to FC Goa and is featured in the team’s squad for the upcoming Durand Cup.
FC Goa, who are the reigning champions, will take on Mohammedan in their first match, which will be a repeat of last year’s final.
The 21-year-old Buam played seven matches (coming off the bench in each) for Mohammedan in the 2021-22 I-League, where the Kolkata club finished as runners-up.
Kolkata, Guwahati and Imphal will play host to the 2022 edition of the Durand Cup, though Kolkata will hold the most matches at 27 (including the knockouts), while the two North East cities get 10 each. The tournament will run from 16th August to 18th September.
FC Goa are in Group A along with Mohammedan, Bengaluru FC, Jamshedpur FC and Indian Air Force.
