Shillong, Apr 11: Shillong Lajong FC will play their home games in the Second Division League, the division below the I-League, at Third Ground in Polo here, with the first match to be held there this Friday.
The match will see Lajong go up against another former I-League club in United SC of Kolkata. Kick-off will be at 2PM.
SLFC have so far had it good in their two opening away games, beating East Bengal reserves and Diamond Rock by identical 1-0 margins, which has put them at the top of Group B.
A win against second-placed United SC would help consolidate the Reds’ hold on top spot.
Only the top clubs from each group plus the best second-placed team will make it to the final round.
At a press conference yesterday, Lajong’s assistant coach Seibor Sana informed that, because Third Ground has no permanent seating, temporary stands will be set up and tickets sold to the public for Rs 80 and Rs 100 for Friday’s game.
Lajong will then host Diamond Rock on 19th April before heading back on the road to play United SC away on 24th April. They will then return to Shillong for their final group fixture against East Bengal reserves on 29th April.
