Shillong, Sep 15: Mawkriah West SC took provisional first place in the Group D standings of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2023 thanks to a 1-0 victory over Diengpasoh SC at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
The other, earlier, match ended 1-1 between Risa Colony SC and Mawlyngngad SC.
Lawrence Jeremy Nongbri scored in the first minute of the match for Mawkriah West, according to the SSA, and Diengpasoh have now lost two matches in a row by identical 1-0 margins.
Meanwhile, Risa Colony and Mawlyngngad played out another draw, which was the third for both teams this season.
Donryngkat Nongkhlaw scored for Mawlyngngad in the 61st minute but Wellborn Pyngrope equalised for Risa Colony six minutes later.
Mawkriat West now have 8 points from five games, leading Pommura by a single point, though the latter have a game in hand. Mawlyngngad, Risa Colony and Laitkroh SC all have 6 points each, with Mawlyngngad leading on goal difference (+1 to 0 and -7 respectively). Diengpasoh are at the bottom of the group with 4 points.
