Shillong, Oct 10: Krang SC and Meghalaya Police won their respective Group A matches of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division at First Ground, Polo, here yesterday.
Both teams won 2-0 against Lapalang SC and Gorkha Association respectively. The other match, in Group B, saw Mawryngkneng SC and Nongkseh SC play out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
Krang scored twice in the second half through Labyntalang Nongphlang (69′) and Willjohn Kyrsien (78′).
Later, there was a goal in either half for the police thanks to Kommanwell Nongrum (19′) and Bikram Chettri (61′).
And, lastly, Mawryngkneng went 2-0 up before Nongkseh equalised, with all four goals coming in the second half.
Brokenstar Warmalai produced a rapid brace of goals in the 50th and 56th minutes for Mawryngkneng before Banteilang Synnia responded with a double of his own in the 75th and 80th minutes.
