Shillong, Oct 14: Meghalaya blew the opposition away in a 14-0 win against minnows Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu in their opening Pool D match of the U-17 boys’ Subroto Cup in New Delhi today.
Meghalaya are being represented at the tournament by Assam Rifles Public School.
The smashing win saw two Meghalaya players score four goals each – Phermanbha Lyngdoh and Jason T Malsawmtluanga. Lalbiakdika pumped in three more, while Rodrigo Sympli, Milli Putum and Iminstar Mawlong all contributed one each.
The U-17 boys’ tournament began today and will conclude on 23rd October.
Also in Pool D are Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Navy School.
