Shillong, Jan 9: Laitkor SC won the opening match of the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 1-0 over Malki SC at First Ground, Polo, here today.
The only goal of the game was scored by Ryngkat Yanni Ryngksai in the 70th minute.
Only seven teams are participating this season, the others being Mylliem SC, Mawkhar SC, Umphyrnai SC, Lawsohtun SC and Nongrim Hills SC.
Laitkor and Mylliem were promoted from the Second Division held in 2022. Mawkhar and Malki, meanwhile, were relegated from last season’s Shillong Premier League.
The next match is scheduled for Thursday between Mawkhar and Lawsohtun at 2:15PM.
