Shillong, Feb 1: Meghalaya’s U-17 boys went down to Assam 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the 65th National School Games’ football tournament in Agartala today.
In the morning pre-quarterfinal, Meghalaya breezed past Tamil Nadu 4-0, with Ieidlang Syiemlieh, Bobystar Nongkseh, Damanbha Kharthangmaw and Jonybakordor Nongkhlaw all scoring a goal each.
The quarterfinal then followed in the afternoon and this time Meghalaya’s unbeaten run was brought to a halt by Assam by the narrowest of margins.
