Shillong, Jan 27: Laitkor SC picked up their third victory in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2023 but had to overturn a one goal deficit to beat Mawkhar SC 3-1 at First Ground here today.
Mawkhar took the lead in only the third minute through Kyrmen Lyngdoh but parity was restored in the first quarter of the match itself when Euvasius Mawthoh (19′) equalised.
Euvasius would then go on to find the lead for Laitkor in the 76th minute and his team mate Banskhem Kharkongor (85′) made it 3-1 later on.
Laitkor are the first club to play four games this season and have 9 points from three wins and one defeat. Mawkhar, after three outings, have a solitary point from their first match draw, with the next two contests both going against them.
The next fixture is scheduled for 31st January between Umphyrnai SC and Malki SC at the new time of 2:45PM.
