Shillong, Jan 29: Meghalaya were trailing 2-1 at half time but stormed back for a 5-3 victory against Jharkhand in the semifinals of the men’s football event at the Khelo India Youth Games 2024 in Chennai today.

This means that Meghalaya have guaranteed themselves at least a silver medal, though they will be aiming for nothing less than gold in Wednesday’s final.

Mebanlamlynti Marsharing, who scored three goals in the group stage, delivered four today alone to help his side progress to the final.

Meghalaya, who have won four games in a row now, will face Punjab in the title clash. The two sides both came out of Group A and Meghalaya had won their group meeting 2-1.
