Shillong, Jul 11: Wanborlang L Nongbri scored a hat-trick in Umrynjah SC’s 3-1 victory over Lumpyngngad SC in Group A of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2024 at Polo here today.
The day’s other fixture, in Group D, saw Laitlulong SC blank Laitkroh SC 2-0.
At First Ground, Umrynjah went behind early on as Viangcolas Kharbyngngar (4′) put Lumpyngngad ahead early on. However, Wanborlang led the charge with three goals, first providing the equaliser in the 11th minute before giving his side the lead in the 35th and then making it 3-1 in the 55th.
Wanborlang is now the top scorer of the tournament with 5 goals after scoring twice in Umrynjah’s 6-0 win over Mawreng on 1st July. He is also the fifth player this season to record a hat-trick.
Over at Third Ground, Pynskhemlang Lyngdoh (6′, 67′) bookended the 70-minute match with two strikes to give Laitlulong their first win in three games.
