Shillong, Sep 26: The Meghalaya Athletics Association has selected two sprinters to participate at the 4th Indian Open U-23 Athletics Championship 2024.
Kyrshanlang Shylla (20), of Kyndong Tuber in West Jaintia Hills, will run the 400m men’s race, while Renaldi Dhar (18) of Wahiajer in West Jaintia Hills, will run the 100m men’s race.
Kyrshanlang trains at the Sports Authority of India’s Shillong Training Centre. Renaldi trains as part of the vaunted Super Elite Pathway Programme of the Meghalaya State Olympic Association and state government.
The three-day event will take place in Patna from 28th to 30th September.
The two Meghalaya track runners were part of the four-man team that took bronze at the 4x100m men’s relay at the 3rd North East Games last year.
Kyrshanlang and Renaldi both won gold in the 5th Meghalaya Games earlier this year. They also represented Meghalaya at the 34th East Zone Athletics Championship in 2023.
