Shillong, Nov 14: Kayleigh Petra Nongkynrih, the Assistant Secretary of the Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association, has been selected as a judge for the IFSC Asian Youth Climbing Championship 2024, which began on Thursday.

The announcement was made by MeSCMA President Malviancy Shabong today. Nongkynrih, of Upper Lumparing, was selected by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation as a member of the panel of judges for the championship, which will run until 17th November in Jamshedpur.

A total of 13 countries are participating in this championship, with 31 climbers from India.

IMF is an apex body, which regulates and controls all mountaineering and allied sports activities in the country. It is a regulatory body under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports for sport climbing at the national and international levels, including the Olympics. It is also affiliated to the International Federation of Sport Climbing.
