Shillong, Apr 21: St Alfred Secondary School were declared Overall Champions at the Ri-Bhoi District Level Inter-School Athletic Meet 2025, which was held in Nongpoh last week.
There were more than 900 athletes from 36 schools that took part in the event, organised by the District Sports Officer and Ri-Bhoi District Sports Association, which concluded on Thursday.
Besides being Overall Champions, St Alfred’s, who are based out of Marngar and were also the top school in 2024, won Best Team in the U-14 girls’, U-16 girls’ and U-18 boys’ and girls’ categories.
The MeECL School in Nongsder were Best Team in the U-14 boys’ category, while St Jude Secondary School in Umpher took the U-16 boys’ Best Team title.
Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal was the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Additional Superintendent of Police Naman Kumar, District School Education Officer KB Jyrwa, District Sports Officer Bobby L Nongbet and RBDSA representatives.
