Shillong, Feb 27: Sandystone Kharshandy smashed 128 from 66 deliveries in Hurdles CC’s 52-run victory against Nayabasti Youth Club in Group B of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
The other match of the day, in Group C, saw Laitkynsew Mission defeat Thynroit CC by a convincing 65 runs.
Hurdles of Mawsynram won the toss and batted first. They put up 188/9 in their 20 overs, with Sandystone’s century leading the way. Rakesh Boro, who took a hat-trick for Nayabasti, finished with figures of 3/38 in 4 overs.
In reply, Nayabasti were restricted to 136/8 in 20 overs, with 39 from 30 balls by Sajib Debnath being the high score. Shrimonto Hajong took 2/26 in 4 overs for Hurdles. Sandystone was named Player of the Match.
Later, Laitkynsew also batted first after winning the toss and made 161 all out in 18 overs. Jesper Malngiang top-scored with 65 from 36 deliveries and Markynsai Syiemlieh scalped 3/22 in 3 overs.
Thynroit were well short in the chase, being kept down to just 97/7 in 20 overs. Istarding Warjri made 25 from 30 balls, while Larikupar Malngiang took 3/11 in 3 overs. Jesper’s half-century in the first innings won him the Player of the Match award.
