Shillong, Mar 21: Mawphlang CC and Superkings of Sohiong won their respective matches in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
In Group D Mawphlang defeated Mawmluh CC by six wickets in the first game, while the Superkings beat Saitsohpen Veterans by nine wickets in Group C.
Mawphlang won the toss and chose to field first and they were able to restrict Mawmluh to 137/8 in 20 overs. Banbha (no surname provided) claimed 5/12 in 4 overs and Saindorlang Ripnar 3/24 in 4, while Teibansuk Sohkhlet hit 50 from 37 deliveries for Mawmluh.
Although the total was defendable, Mawphlang had little trouble in getting to the target, reaching 143/4 in 16.5 overs. Saindorlang smacked 45 from 28 balls and was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance. Vijay Pathaw took 2/34 in 4 overs for Mawmluh.
Later, Superkings also chose to field after winning the toss and they dismissed Saitsohpen Veterans for 102 in 19.3 overs. Keithwill Lyngdoh’s 25 from 20 was the high score, while Lightstar Jana bagged 3/18 in 4 overs.
The team from Sohiong brushed off the required runs in double quick time, taking just 10.1 overs to reach 106/1. Wenbestar Syiemiong hit 47 from 28 balls and he was declared Player of the Match.
