Shillong, Mar 27: Cricket Smit and Friends United won the first and second quarterfinal matches of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.

Cricket Smit romped to victory over Seng Samla Saitsohpen by 112 runs in the first match, while Friends United defeated Seng Samla Mawriang Mawlong by seven wickets in the second.

Cricket Smit won the toss in the morning and batted first to put up a total of 175/8 in 20 overs. Nikodomas Lyngwa top-scored with 62 from 55 deliveries while Ricky Surong took 2/35 in 4 overs.

Saitsohpen’s reply was short as they were dismissed for 63 in 12.4 overs. Ricky returned with the bat to make 15, while Pynkhrawbok Thabah scalped 4/17 in 3 overs and he was declared Player of the Match.

Later, Friends United opted to field first after winning the toss and they were able to bowl out Mawriang Mawlong for 132 in 20 overs. Symper Nongtraw’s 22 from 17 was the high score while Larikupar Nongkynrih bagged 3/28 in 4 overs.

Friends United went at over 10 an over to make 135/3 in 12.2 overs. Wansiewdor Lyndem pummelled 44 from 22 balls while two of the three wickets to fall were claimed by Bankit Nongtraw (2/35 in 4). Wansiewdor was named Player of the Match for his batting heroics.

Tomorrow, at 8:30AM, Laitkynsew Mission CC (Group C) will play Sohra Combine (Group B), while Mawphlang CC (Group D) are set to take on Laitjem CC (Group A) at 12:05PM.
