Shillong, Mar 31: Shillong Lajong FC will have a potentially season-defining clash against Sreenidi Deccan at the latter’s home ground in Hyderabad on Wednesday in the Indian Football League 2025-26. Kick-off for the Round 6 match will be at 6:30PM.
Both sides have had similar seasons so far, with each registering three wins, one draw and one defeat – they have the same number of points (10) and the same goal difference (+3). Lajong are currently in first place based on goals scored (8 to 7).
The Reds are experiencing a huge boost in morale as they arrived in Hyderabad on the back of two consecutive victories, over Gokulam Kerala most recently and Chanmari FC a few days before.
Sreenidi Deccan, on the other hand, defeated Dempo 3-1 at home last Wednesday and drew 1-1 with Namdhari before that. This will be their third home match of the season.
For Lajong coach Birendra Thapa, the Deccan Arena will be a homecoming of sorts as he was assistant coach at Sreenidi for three and a half years.
The match will be telecast live on Sony Sports Network, Doordarshan Sports and streamed on OTT platforms Sony LIV and Waves.
