Shillong, Feb 12: Meghalaya went down to Nagaland by 140 runs in their U-19 Women’s One Day League plate group match in Dehradun today.
Playing their second match in two days was always going to be tough for the Meghalaya women and the toss did not go their way either, with Nagaland winning it and choosing to bat first.
A century by Antima Teotia was the real difference between the two teams as Nagaland reached 211/7 in their 50 overs.
Dasanbaniewkor Wahlang (2/27) and Deiphibapynshngain L Mawnai (2/32) picked up two wickets each for Meghalaya, with Wahlang the most economical of all of the state’s bowlers today, going for just 2.27 runs per over. Thymmei Lyngdoh (1/35) and N Roy (1/39) were also among the wickets.
Meghalaya’s innings never really got going and they were dismissed for 71 in 38.4 overs.
Meghalaya will now have three days’ rest and will take on Bihar on Friday. Bihar won both of their opening two matches.
