Shillong, Apr 3: The All India Football Federation will conduct trials in partnership with the Meghalaya Football Association, open to boys and girls, for the national age-level teams, the MFA announced today.
The trials will be held from 5th to 7th April at Third Ground, Shillong. There will be two sessions per day: 8AM to 11AM and 3PM to 6PM.
Players must be nominated by a school, club or association in order to take part. They then must report at 8AM on 5th April. No names will be entertained after this.
Boys born during the years 2003-04 and girls born during the years 2002-05 are eligible.
The trials for the boys will be held on 5th April (morning and evening sessions) and 6th April (morning session), with the girls’ trials to start in the evening of the 6th April and continue into 7th April (morning and evening).
Schools, clubs and associations are requested to nominate five players to take part in the trials. Nominations of overaged players will attract a penalty from the AIFF and MFA, though what sort of penalty this will be wasn’t mentioned in the press release.
Players should report to the ground with their original school photo ID as well as their original and photocopied birth certificate. Aadhaar is optional.
