Shillong, Sep 8: The Meghalaya boys’ football team won their opening match of the Sub-Junior National Football Championship North East zone 3-0 over Assam in Imphal today.
Meghalaya scored through Colinsalmon Lyngdoh (26′, 72′) and Samachaphrang Lato (40′).
Meghalaya dominated both halves of the game, with Lyngdoh, Lato, Teibok Nongrum and Samlang Rympei playing particularly well.
The next match for Meghalaya will be on Tuesday against Mizoram.
