Shillong, Nov 14: The ‘Cherry Blossom Run’ was held today during Shillong’s Cherry Blossom Festival, organised by the East Khasi Hills District Sports Officer.
The race began at 6:30AM at Madan Iewrynghep and ended at the JN Sports Complex.
Around 150 runners (male and female) took part, a press release from the DSO said, though it didn’t inform what the length of the race was. First, second and third-placed finishers were awarded cash prizes, certificates and trophies.

Male Open Category (General Public) – 1st Marso Kyndait (West Jaintia Hills), 2nd Skhemlang Suba (Ri-Bhoi), 3rd Kresstarjune Pathaw (West Khasi Hills)
Female Open Category (General Public) 1st Pynhun Shulet (West Jaintia Hills), 2nd Dateibankynmaw Marwein (South West Khasi Hills), 3rd Kyntiewmon Marwein (South West Khasi Hills)
Male Open Category (Security Personnel) – 1st Michael Ramsiej (Assam Regiment), 2nd Okitlang Syiemlieh (Meghalaya Police), 3rd Rajib Koch (Police Training School)
Female Open Category (Security Personnel) – 1st Dakahi Kyndait (Police Training School), 2nd Angel Basumatary (Meghalaya Police), Sweetylin Nongdhar (CID)
