Shillong, Aug 14: Maharashtra cabinet minister Aditya Thackeray, who is also the Mumbai District Football Association President and Western India Football Association Vice-President, pledged his support today to help 1,000 coaches as part of the Association of Indian Football Coaches’ campaign to help those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.
As a first step Thackeray (pictured left) handed over the first kit of basic supplies to AIFC Director Dinesh Nair (right).
Talking about this kind gesture, Nair said, “On behalf of all the coaches and AIFC, I would like to thank Mr Aditya Thackeray for his help and support. We will ensure that this reaches all the right people. With this help, we can now also reach out to other stakeholders of Indian football.”
On Tuesday the AIFC announced the launch of a campaign – Covid-19 Coach Stimulus Program — #AIFCforCoaches, an initiative supported by SportingLions Foundation and GiveIndia Foundation.
