Shillong, Jan 28: A camp for women cricketers, organised by the Meghalaya Cricket Association, began in Tura yesterday.
The camp will be of three weeks’ duration and will be run at Alotgre Cricket Ground.
Thirty-six players were shortlisted for the camp, which is for combined age groups.
According to reports in the national media, the BCCI has given the go-ahead for the start of the women’s domestic cricket season, which will probably begin in March. In the 2019-20 season, the women’s senior side was the most successful of any of the Meghalaya cricket teams that participated in BCCI tournaments, winning seven out of nine matches in the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy.
