Shillong, Feb 9: Sumer won their second consecutive match of the Shillong Cricket Association’s B Division, this time by 79 runs over Golflink Elevenstar today. The other game of the day saw Metallica also win their second fixture, defeating Innings Star by 71 runs.
After being put in to bat first, Sumer managed 136/6 in their 20 overs, with Dekreak Chandranath top-scoring with 42. Asif Khan took 3/23. In reply Golflink Elevenstar were skittled for just 57 in 11.2 overs, with Rijied Kharkrang (3/16) and Terry Dkhar (3/16) both taking three wickets each. Kharkrang (pictured right) had the better economy rate and was declared man-of-the-match.
Mettalica also batted first in their match and finished on 155 all out in 19.1 overs, with man-of-the-match Rahul Baruah hitting 34 and Jitender Rai taking 4/22. In reply Innings Star were all out for 84 in 14.4 overs. Rai top-scored with 21. Shubham Mishra claimed the best figures of 3/18.
Yesterday, Sumer edged Slog Warriors by just five runs. Chandranath had struck 54 in Sumer’s total of 137/2, while Slog Warriors finished on 132/6. In the other game of the day, Occult CC smashed Innings Star by 61 runs.
