Shillong, Mar 20: Kyntimon Marwein and Kresstarjune Pathaw won the women’s and men’s categories respectively at the 1st NEHU Half Marathon 2021, which was held here on Saturday.
The event, along with a ‘fun run’, was organised by the Sports Department of North-Eastern Hill University under the central government’s Fit India Campaign.
The races were flagged off by NEHU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Shillong) Prof Henry Lamin. NEHU Vice-Chancellor Prof SK Srivastava, State Bank of India NEHU Branch Chief Manager Anindya Deb, NEHU Registrar JN Nayak and others were present at the closing ceremony where they gave away the cash prizes and mementoes to the top runners as well as finishers’ medals to all participants, NEHU’s Sports Department said in a press release.
The timings of the runners were not provided.
