Shillong, Oct 25: Tynring made it into the final of the Shillong Sports Association’s Fourth Division after edging Mylliem Lum in a penalty shootout 5-4 at Polo Ground today.
The second semifinal saw no goals scored in the 70 minutes of normal time or in extra time afterwards. That resulted in the need for a tiebreaker (like in the first semifinal on Saturday), while Tynring won.
The result brought Mylliem Lum’s season to a close; they had qualified for the semis with two wins in Group D. Tynring had won all three of their games in the Group B.
By qualifying for the final, Tynring have also secured promotion to next season’s Third Division.
The title match for 2021 will take place on Thursday at 2PM between Pay For Right Academy and Tynring.
