Shillong, Nov 18: Mawshbuit and Mawpat won their respective matches in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division at Polo Ground here today.
Mawshbuit first blanked Gorkha Association 2-0, with Starlington Dkhar scoring the fastest goal of the season so far (2′) before adding another in the second half (52′).
Mawpat’s Batiplang Bamon then scored a brace of his own (6′, 55′) to give his side a 2-1 win over Sanmer in the second match of the day. Sanmer’s goal was through Babitdor Dorphang (27′).
Mawpat have thus concluded their group stage fixtures and have a total of five points (one win, two draws, one defeat). Though second in the table behind Mawshbuit (two wins, one defeat), Mawpat could be overtaken by Rynjah (who weren’t in action today) and Sanmer, who both have four points each, when they play their final round of matches next week.
