Shillong, Mar 21: Lamare FC won the first quarterfinal of the 6th Knockout Football Tournament, organised by Wahiajer SC, today by defeating Brimmed FC 2-1.
It was a close contest but Lamare benefited from an own goal from T Bareh. Stephanson Pale also scored one in the 42nd minute, while Brimmed’s lone goal came from Hikai Bareh via a penalty after a foul in the box.
The man-of-the-match award went to Nikelson Bina (pictured) of Lamare.
The second quarterfinal will be held on Wednesday between Seng Samla Phlongiñkhaw and YBSC Shella at 2PM.
