Shillong, May 9: Mawlong and Friends United tied their match in the East Khasi Hills’ Cricket Association’s T20 Tournament today in Mawryngkneng.

Friends United of Sohra elected to bowl first against Mawlong CC after winning the toss and restricted their opponents to 126/8 in 20 overs. Banteilang Kharbamon (29) and Kyrsoi Kharbamon (28) hit the most runs for Mawlong, while Nangkiew Don took 2/13.

In reply, Friends United also finished on 126/8, with Kitdor Majaw making 45 and player-of-the-match Paia Nongkynrih 31. Ritchie Diengdoh bagged 3/14.

In the earlier match, Marbisu SC won the toss against Mawryngkneng CC and chose to bat first but were all out for 97 in 14 overs, with Socialborn Kurbah top-scoring with 25 and player-of-the-match Nangshai Nongpluh (featured photo) producing a brilliant 6/18.

Mawryngkneng were largely untroubled in the chase, though they did lose five wickets but they knocked off the required runs in 13.3 overs. Apsharai Mawthoh top-scored with 23 while Banshemphang Kurbah bagged 2/13.
