Shillong, Jun 29: The District Level Inter School Subroto Cup Football Tournament 2022 concluded today in Wapung Skur.
The U-17 girls final was won by Khliehriat Higher Secondary School 1-0 over Dkhiah East Secondary School. Amithies Ramvulmoii was named Best Player.
Le Shnong Upper Primary School and Byndihati SS were involved in an even closer finale that ended 2-2 before Le Shnong UPS won the tiebreaker 3-1. Malki Dkhar was the Best Player in this category.
In the U-17 boys’ title match, Wapung HSS edged Khliehriat Presbyterian HSS 1-0 and Amassjune Phawa was named Best Player.
The winning teams will now represent the district at the state-level competition.
Today, the chief guest was cabinet minister and Khliehriat MLA Kyrmen Shylla, while the guest of honour was the district Superintendent of Police Jagpal Singh Dhanoa. The Rangbah Shnongs of Wapung and Deinchynrum were also present as well as the Secretary of the East Jaintia Hills District Sports Association, Comingone Tlang. The tournament was organised by the office of the District Sports Officer.
