Shillong, Jul 5: The District Level Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Cup for Ri-Bhoi concluded yesterday at Umdihar Playground.
The finals saw Mynkhen Higher Secondary School defeat Christian HSS 1-0 in the final of the U-14 boys’ event. Sati Raja Secondary School beat St Vianney SS 2-0 in the U-17 girls’ final.
In the U-17 boys’ final, Umdihar SS pipped Evershine SS via a tiebreaker.
The champion schools will represent the district at the state-level Subroto Cup at a later date.
Dignitaries present on the occasion were Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh, Umsning MLA Jason Sawkmie Mawlong, Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem, Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Arpit Upadhyay, Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad and District Sports Officer Bobby L Nongbet.
