Shillong, Jan 1: Pay For Right Academy are the champions of the 6th Swargadeo Sarbananda Singha National Invitation Tournament after they beat the reserve team of NorthEast United FC in a tiebreaker in the final on Friday evening.
PFR scored twice in the first half in Dibrugarh, Assam, only for NEUFC reserves to equalise with two goals of their own in the second half.
With full time ending 2-2, the match went into a penalty shootout where the Shillong team held their nerve for a 5-4 win, to the great credit of the players and Amit Rai (coach) and Robin Nongrum (assistant coach).
PFR’s Andy Suting was named Player of the Tournament, while Eben Warbah was Best Goalkeeper.
